Who is responsible for your information

GetMotors Demo (address available from the dealership on request) is responsible for the personal information you give us on demo.getmotors.co.uk. We are the data controller. Contact us about your information at the email address on our contact page or on the phone number on our contact page.

This website is run for us by GetMotors, which processes your information on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement and may not use it for anything else. You can ask us for a copy of that agreement.

What we collect and why

•Enquiries, test-drive bookings, part-exchange and finance enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, your message and the car you are asking about — so we can reply and arrange what you asked for. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

•Reserving a car: your name, email address and mobile number, and the deposit payment reference — to hold the car and take the deposit. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. Lawful basis: our contract with you.

•Saved cars: your email address and the cars you saved — to show you your list. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in providing the feature you asked for.

•Stock alerts: your email address, the search you want alerts for, and a record of when and where you agreed — to email you matching cars. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every alert email.

•The chat assistant: the questions you type are sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) so it can answer. We do not keep the conversation.

•Website analytics and advertising: only if you agree in the cookie banner. See our cookie notice.

Who we share it with

•GetMotors, which runs this website for us.

•Stripe, which takes deposit payments.

•The companies that deliver our emails and text messages.

•Finance partners, only if you ask us about finance and only what they need to reply.

•Google and Meta, only if you accept analytics or advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

•Enquiries and bookings: [period to be confirmed by GetMotors Demo].

•Reservation and payment records: [6 years, for accounting — to be confirmed].

•Saved cars and stock alerts: until you remove them or stop the alerts, then [period to be confirmed].

•Records of the messages we sent you: the recipient and content are removed after a set period.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at the email address on our contact page. We will reply within one month.
